From Turning Art, Boston, Interview, August 2020:
"My father was my first inspiration. He was a sculptor and a painter. From the age of about four, I worked on sketches with him, particularly of faces and drawings of my own left hand. I spent a great deal of time in his studio...Presently, I am interested in Carl Jung’s theory of the collective unconscious and the interconnectedness of the universe, as well as the correlating schools of thought and mysticism related to these concepts. This includes the idea of the universe as a hologram. All of my postage stamp pattern fields are my interpretation and reinvention of mandalas, or meditative microcosms. I am very drawn to simple, but powerful geometric relationships and repeating patterns." Comments are closed.
