Mandalas

Mandala Series

The “Mandala” series was inspired by my 25 year plus practice of using Samadhi Float Tanks (sensory deprivation) to assist in meditation and relaxation. The specific design is based on Josef Albers' “Homage to a Square” series from the 1950s and 60s. These minimalist pieces are meditative in nature with the squares floating, pushing and pulling, to create a moving and vibrating interdependent whole. These postage stamp color-fields are my interpretation and reinvention of a mandala, or meditative microcosm.
