Also referred to as the Book of Changes, the I Ching is an ancient Chinese divination book consisting 64 symbols, called hexagrams, and their accompanying text. After asking a specific question, two coins are thrown six times to create a hexagram. This hexagram is then interpreted, often with a second one being created according to the coins tossed to create the first. Specific coin combinations create "changing lines" and therefore, the first hexagram created changes into a second. Furthermore, an additional hexagram, called a "nuclear hexagram" can also be created based on the original. All three of these hexagrams can be taken into account when interpreting and divining future events and wise courses of action directly relating to the question being posed. #iching #ichingoracle #ichinghexagrams #divination #oracles #mixedmediaart #chinesepostagestamps #chicagoartist 56s Liminal Space: Relating to, or situated at, a sensory threshold.
