"Sleepy Hollow" used U.S. postage stamps and resin on cradled wood panel 8" x 8" 2020

A behind the scenes look: "Old Glory" under construction in the studio. Each star is hand-made and hand-cut, and is created using U.S. flag themed stamps of various years. For this particular flag piece I chose the 1973 (#1509 & 1519) issues featuring two crossed flags (a 50-star and a 13-star). This phase is the most precise and meticulous part of the flag process, as the geometry and arrangement of the star field must be absolutely precise.
