For several decades, I have been collecting and curating vintage postcards, uncovering fragments of history, nostalgia, and moments frozen in time. These intriguing pieces of paper ephemera often find their way into my creative process, becoming part of my mixed media paintings and collages. If not immediately incorporated into a work, I set them aside, allowing their stories to evolve as I revisit them later.
Through a process of altering these postcards—cutting, pasting, and layering—I often juxtapose them with my original photography, creating compositions that merge disparate subjects, environments, and eras. These playful works explore the intersection of time and memory, blending the past with the present in a way that invites viewers to reconsider familiar scenes through a new lens. Each piece is a unique conversation between the forgotten and the contemporary, revealing unexpected connections and narratives. Comments are closed.
